BIBLICAL ASTRONOMY - THE BOOK OF ENOCH - THE CONTINUATION OF GENESIS CHAPTER 1, THE CREATION OF THE WORLD.

My introduction will remain the same as in previous times, because they are important to understand what follows.
Note; at the bottom of this blog, you will find a link to a documentary made by Dr Hugh Ross, professor in astrophysics. He, along with many of his colleague confirm the existence of God, and that He created the universe in order to SUSTAIN life on Earth. The Earth is the most important planet for God. I think Psalm 95 says it all. It is found on the comment section of the link.

Introduction:

In Genesis chapter 1, we can read that God created the world. Genesis (ኦሪት ዘፍጥረት) 1:1-5

"The Creation of the World
1In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

We can find more information on how God created the world in the Canonical Old Testament books, but non of them are as informative as the Book of Enoch, called Henok in Geez and Hanok in Hebrew. This book, in its entirely, is only found in the Tewahdo Orthodox church, and they have found fragments of it in the Dead Sea scrolls in Israel. It is said that the Levites took these books with them to Eritrea and to Axoum about 1000 years before the birth of Christ. The exact age of the book may be disputable, however, it is certain that it came to be several hundreds years before the birth of Yeshua, or Jesus Christ. Despite the dramatic history of the Jews since thousands of years back, the book of Henoch is non the less considered as the first Bible in the world. Moses based some of his information on Enoch when he for instance wrote the book of Genesis. In fact, Enoch is our great, great, great, great, great grand-father; he was the great-grandfather of Noah. Enoch never died, he was taken up to heaven by God because he was so holy. He was the only holy person on the earth at the time. Enoch is a pre-flood man, and he provides provable information on why God caused the flood. This information is valuable for you, even today.

In this blog we will look into the biblical astronomy that this book provides. This is important in Christmas time because it has relevance for the birth of Yeshua, His star, and on how the three wise men (who most probably were Jews and knew the Scriptures perfectly) could understand the Signs in the skies when they came to worship the newborn promised Messiah.

We can read this from the New Testament:

"Mathew (ወንጌል ማቴዎስ) 2:1-2, The Visit of the Wise Men

"Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”"

God wrote that He made the lights in heaven in order for us to be able to know the "signs" and "seasons .... and ... days and years" and to differentiate between them. Genesis (ኦሪት ዘፍጥረት)1:14.

In this blog, we will be going through the book of Enoch, first through the Tgrinna translation of the Geez biblical text , then from the English translation of the Hebrew texts of Enoch that were found in Israel.

This blog is a continuation of Genesis (ኦሪት ዘፍጥረት) 1:14-19. You have to read this if you are to understand the biblical astronomy that God asked Enoch to write for our blessing.

"14And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,f and for days and years, 15and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day."

ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF THE SAME TEXT THAT IS FOUND IN HEBREW IN ISRAEL. THE TEXT WAS EXCAVATED IN 1940s

Note that if there is any difference between the Geez-Tgrinna translation and the Hebrew-English translation, that it is mainly because while the Hebrew translation is based on fragmented Enoch scrolls, the Geez text was found entirely complete. You should also bear in mind that translations always lead to small minor differences, though they manage to deliver the intended message.

HANOK from Halleluyah Scriptures - CHAPTER 75

THE LEADES OF THE HEADS OF THE THOUSANDS WHO ARE PLACED OVER THE WHOLE CREATION & OVER ALL THE STARS

1 And the leaders of the heads of the thousands who are placed over the whole creation and over all the stars, have also to do with the four intercalary days, being inseparable from their office, according to the reckoning of the year, and these render service on the four days which are not reckoned in the reckoning of the year.
2 And owing to them men go astray therein, for those lights truly render service on the world-stations, one in the first portal, one in the third portal of the shamayim, one in the fourth portal, and one in the sixth portal, and the exactness of the year is accomplished through its separate three hundred and sixty-four stations.
3 For the signs and the times and the years and the days the messenger Uri'ĕl showed to me, whom יהוה of esteem has appointed forever over all the lights of the shamayim, in the shamayim and in the world, that they should rule on the face of the shamayim and be seen on the earth, and be leaders for the day and the night: the sun, moon, and stars, and all the ministering beings which make their revolution in all the chariots of the shamayim.
4 In the same way, twelve doors Uri'ĕl showed me, open in the circumference of the sun's chariot in the shamayim, through which the rays of the sun break forth: and from them is warmth diffused over the earth, when they are opened at their appointed times.
5 And for the winds and the spirit of the dew when they are opened, standing open in the shamayim at the ends.
6 As for the twelve portals in the shamayim, at the ends of the earth, out of which go forth the sun, moon, and stars, and all the works of the shamayim in the east and in the west, 7 there are many windows open to the left and right of them, and one window at its appointed time produces warmth, corresponding to those doors from which the stars come forth according as He has commanded them, and wherein they are placed corresponding to their number.
8 And I saw chariots in the shamayim, running in the world, above those portals in which revolve the stars that never go down.
9 And one is larger than all the rest, and it is that which makes its course through the entire world.

CHAPTER 76
THE TWELVE PORTALS OPEN TO ALL THE QUARTERS FROM WHICH WINDS GO FORTH & BLOW OVER THE EARTH.

1 And at the ends of the earth I saw twelve portals open to all the quarters from which the winds go forth and blow over the earth.

2 Three of them are open on the face of the shamayim, and three in the west, and three on the right of the shamayim, and three on the left.

3 And the three first are those of the east, and three are of the north, and three after those on the left of the south, and three of the west.

4 Through four of these come winds of berakah and prosperity, and from those eight come hurtful winds - when they are sent, they bring destruction on all the earth and on the water upon it, and on all who dwell upon it, and on all which are in the water and on the land. 5 And the first wind from those portals, called the east wind, comes forth through the first portal which is in the east, inclining towards the south - from it come forth desolation, drought, heat, and destruction.

6 And through the second portal in the middle comes what is fitting, and from it, there comes rain and fruitfulness and prosperity and dew; and through the third portal which lies toward the north come cold and drought.

7 And after these come forth the south winds through three portals - through the first portal of them inclining to the east comes forth a hot wind.

8 And through the middle portal next to it there come forth fragrant smells, and dew and rain, and prosperity and health.

9 And through the third portal lying to the west come forth dew and rain, locusts and desolation.

10 And after these the north winds - from the seventh portal in the east come dew and rain, locusts and desolation.

11 And from the middle portal, come in a direct direction, health and rain and dew and prosperity; and through the third portal in the west come cloud and frost, and snow and rain, and dew and locusts.

12 And after these four are the west winds - through the first portal adjoining the north come forth dew and frost, and cold and snow and ice.

13 And from the middle portal come forth dew and rain, and prosperity and berakah; and through the last portal which adjoins the south come forth drought and desolation, and burning and destruction.

14 And the twelve portals of the four quarters of the shamayim are completed, and all their laws and all their plagues and all their goodness have I shown to you, my son Methushelah.

Documentary; A Journey To Creation, by Dr Hugh Ross https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73pv9bfZC1w

Chapter 77
1 And the first quarter is called the east, because it is the first, and the second, the south, because the Most High will descend there, even there, in quite a special sense will He who is baruk, forever descend.
2 And the west quarter is named the diminished, because there all the lights of the shamayim diminish and go down.
3 And the fourth quarter, named the north, is divided into three parts: the first of them is for the dwelling of men; and the second contains seas of water, and the abysses and forests and rivers, and darkness and clouds; and the third part contains the garden of righteousness.
4 I saw seven high mountains, higher than all the mountains which are on the earth: and from there comes forth frost, and days, seasons, and years pass away.
5 I saw seven rivers on the earth larger than all the rivers - one of them coming from the west pours its waters into the Great Sea.
6 And these two come from the north to the sea and pour their waters into the Eastern Sea in the east.
7 And the remaining four come forth on the side of the north to their own sea, two of them to the Eastern Sea, and two into the Great Sea and discharge themselves there, and some say, into the desert.
8 Seven great islands I saw in the sea and in the mainland: two in the mainland and five in the Great Sea.
